HERE’S HOW TO SEE THE FOREST FROM THE TREES WHILE YOU WRITE

You can’t see the forest from the trees when you’re in low self worth land.

This is especially true when you’ve been through trauma!

You want to heal, so you can finish your book. Your whole heart is dedicated to GETTING BETTER.... then something happens to throw you off your game, and the self-sabotage that is anchored in low self worth, shuts down the whole show, and you stop writing altogether.

For example, looking back at times in my life when I kept giving up on myself, and the many many books I had ‘in progress’ back then, my thoughts weren’t “it’s ok, I’m working through the impact of trauma, this is expected - I’m going to keep going, I’VE GOT THIS.”

No.

My thoughts were: *see, there I go again. Messing shit up.

*I knew I wasn’t meant for this or anything great.

*Next time I won’t even bother starting/trying.

Thick in untreated, unhealed trauma, self-doubt defeats us. It wins, every time, because it has the upper hand due to overwhelming momentum. It has decades on your new consciousness that would win hands down on the ethereal plane, but on this tangible, physical one, it needs to gather momentum, in this new way of being, itself.

The past is ruling with its overwhelming momentum, and the TRUTH of this present moment doesn’t stand a chance.

That truth being that you have everything it takes right now to excel. To succeed. To seriously kick ass with your book, however you define that - whether it’s a bestseller on Amazon or a hard copy on your living room bookshelf, you just need to make this truth bigger than the way the past had you believe life was, which may take some work.

Unhealed (and “unheard” which was the supposed typo just there but actually makes sense!) trauma is what tells you the opposite. That you’re no good. You won’t make it. You don’t have what it takes.

The only way to override and annihilate this total and complete bullshit, is to look the old trauma straight in the eye, with both compassion and brute strength, and tell it there’s no place in the present for it now. That what happened was in the past, it doesn’t rule you now. That you’ll love yourself broken and healing and every other place in between, but living as if the past is still living right beside you, is no longer an option. Understandable, yes, but no longer do-able.

Trauma may have gotten you then, but it can’t and won’t get you now - because you’re committed to treating and resolving it.

This is when you can let the deepest healing begin!

Because you’re finally ALL IN, on this healing journey, and UNSTOPPABLE is your middle name now.

That’s when self-doubt, self-sabotage, and low self worth leave the building, and you’re able to ACTUALLY FUCKING BREATHE the oxygen of your gorgeous true self worth and being.

I love you, Girl!!!

And you do have this,

You have it in you, right now.

You can step into it and start living it right now.

Firm, compassionate, clear on where you’re going … now that you can see the forest from the trees.

XOXO Gina
